CROSSROADS AND BEACON HEALTH UNITE
“Strengthening Lake County’s Mental & Behavioral Health”
MENTOR, OH (November 28, 2017) – Crossroads and Beacon Health announced today that the organizations have decided to merge to more effectively support the mental health needs of both children and adults in Lake County. Both organizations are known leaders in the mental and behavioral health field, the new organization will leverage combined resources to more efficiently provide innovative care for clients and their families throughout all of life’s stages.
Crossroads Chief Executive Officer, Mike Matoney said “One of our core values is being
client-centered and this merger will help us to be more effective in meeting the community’s needs. Our clients and their families will receive better, more efficient service as a result of our ability to now provide mental and behavioral healthcare for the entire family.”
Crossroads and Beacon Health had been exploring opportunities to permanently partner. Separate votes Tuesday by each organization’s Board of Directors returned unanimous decisions to move forward with a merger. It comes at a critical time due to changes in Medicaid via Behavioral Health Redesign in Ohio.
Beacon Health Chief Executive Officer, Spence Kline noted “Historically we’ve worked well together and so it is a natural progression to envision our futures together as we cooperatively treat families as a whole.”
Both organizations have been long-time recipients of funding and support from the Lake County Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health Services (ADAMHS) Board. Executive Director, Kim Fraser says her organization enthusiastically supports the merger. “Both of these agencies have been key players in our system and we believe the new whole will truly be greater than the sum of its parts. This is the right thing to do and the right time to do it.”
Clients will not experience any change in the level of care and will continue receiving service from their current provider. Both Crossroads and Beacon Health remain committed to transparent communications and service throughout the integration process over the coming months.
All locations in Lake County will remain open and staffing levels will be maintained. Clients who have questions are welcome to call (440)255-1700 or (440)354-9924.
