We’re here to help stabilize your life.

Psychiatry and Medication Management

Psychiatry Department

The Crossroads Health Psychiatry team consists of highly qualified Psychiatrists, Physician Assistants and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, serving youth and adult populations living with mental health symptoms. We take an integrated approach, supporting your full healthcare needs and promoting wellness and recovery from psychiatric and physical health conditions.

We begin by conducting a psychiatric evaluation to learn more about your health needs. At the end of that appointment patients receive an initial assessment and recommendations for next steps including prescribing medications, ordering labs and/or referrals, to additional services. It is our goal to help patients stabilize and reduce mental health symptoms to support living life to the fullest.

Services include:

  • – Initial and ongoing psychiatric evaluation of mental health and substance use disorder symptoms.
  • – Whole person assessments, exploring physical health needs that could contribute to psychiatric wellness.
  • – Management of medications including patient education on expected results and monitoring for side effects.
  • – Referrals to additional services including counseling or case management as well as Primary Care or other specialty health providers.
  • – Post hospitalization follow up and support services.
  • – Onsite lab including point of care A1C, Lipids and EKG’s.

Promoting Patient Access

The Crossroads Health Psychiatry team believes that to be helpful we need to be accessible; this is why we use Express Scheduling. An evidence-based scheduling model that ensures patients can get access to follow up appointments within two weeks or less.

If a patient misses or must cancel the day of their appointment, we offer daily No-Show Clinics for adult patients. These are walk-in clinics with our highly qualified nurses. Gone are the days of waiting to get your appointment. We welcome you to walk-in and get seen daily. Patients will always be able to have security knowing they have consistent access to their medication and comfort that their health needs or presence of side effects are being monitored and responded to. Any patient receiving psychiatry services, regardless of age, can walk into the IHC for a nurse appointment for either psychiatric or physical healthcare needs.
